Automation System: BSI Simian

Edit

Introduction

RadioTraffic.com converts to a specific BSI Simian log format.

Edit

Station Configuration

To configure RadioTraffic.com to work with BSI Simian, you will first need modify the station configuration to utilize BSI Simian as the automation system. In the administration module, open 'Stations'. Select the station you want to configure and double click. Once the station configuration is visible, select the 'Files' tab. Select the 'Product' to BSI Simian using the drop down selection tool. The 'Automation Log Path' is where RadioTraffic.com will export the log to, so set this to the file system folder that BSI Simian will pull the file from. The 'Station Identifier' will need to match the 'station number' described in the BSI Simian User Manual (which is a number from 0 to 9).

Edit

Cart Numbers

BSI Simian system can use cart number 5 digit alpha-numeric cart numbers.

Edit

Automation Commands

We support sequence #, + and @ sequence commands. Additionally, we support the & and [M] variants. These are exported as MACRO lines. Use the in the "Command" field and use the "Cart Number" for the command number used in BSI Simian. We also support a special format for these so they will export as AUDIO LINES; simply double them (ie. ##, ++ and @@).

Edit

Breaks

Break markers do not automatically export to the BSI Simian export and are used strictly inside of RadioTraffic.com as a means of scheduling.

Automatic Log Reconciliation

We also support automatic log reconciliation for the BSI Simian as-aired logs. To configure this feature, you need to determine where these files are located on your network and use that path to configure the "Aired Log Path".
