Introduction

This is where we detail the features and capabilities we are actively working on.

Please note that RT follows the philosophy of "release early, release often" through a "continuous delivery" approach meaning that we are extremely enthusiastic to get into your hands any improvements that we've completed as soon as possible to that you can take advantage of them NOW!.

This means that it is extremely important that you keep an eye out for our release notes and if you have any questions (or need additional in-depth assistance) with any of the improvements that you don't hesitate to ask one of our customer service individuals to spend a little time with you. As always, if you have any questions, comments, or suggests you can always begin the process by using the Send a Smile tool available under the Feedback menu located on your Dashboard.

Pending Release

Color Options in Log

We have added the option to differentiate colors between Programs, log notes and automation commands within the log.

Tools, Options, Colors tab and at the very bottom:

To change colors on these or any other items within the log:

Statement Aging 30/60/etc. or Monthly

You can now select how you want your Statement aging to appear, either the standard 30/60/etc. or now Monthly. Under Group, Options, in the Statement section you will see:

With the default 30/60/90 selected, you show:

With monthly selected, you show:

EC IF you happen to have both options checked, it will default to the 30/60/etc.

Print Confirmations

We have added the ability to print your confirmations in the order you need. Rearrange the list how you want and it will now print in that order. We have also added 3 new columns:

  • Created: The Date the Contract was created.
  • Approved Date: The Date the Contract was approved.
  • Approved Time: The Time the Contract was approved.

This gives you even more options to print your confirmations in the order you want, You can print in order by Sales Person or by Contract, And remember that you can with the ability to sort by more than one column.

To sort by a column's values and replace existing sort conditions that are applied to the current or other columns, click the target column's header until a UP or Down Arrow icon is displayed within the header. The Up and Down Arrows indicate ascending and descending sort orders respectively.

To sort by a column's values while preserving existing sort conditions, do one of the following:

  • Click a column header while holding the SHIFT key down, until a UP or Down Arrow icon is displayed within the header.
  • Right-click a column header and select Sort Ascending or Sort Descending from the context menu that will appear:

To remove sorting by a column, click a column header while holding the CTRL key down.

Plans

Multi-Select, allows you to Shift/Left click or ctrl/left click to gather a few plans and right click to open the Context menu and apply to all highlighted.

    • Fix: Remove the default column from Plans as it doesn't do/represent anything.
    • Fix: When using the Apply From... tool in the Log, the "Retrieving log..." status message does not go away when the process is completed giving the impression that the task is "running forever".
  • Exception
    • OverflowException in AddAvail.LengthTextEdit(): When entering a length such as 3333333333 (yes, that is ten 3's... almost 926,000 hours... over 38,000 days!) in the length field of the AddAvail dialog within the Template editor, the application crashes. The field now only allows for 4 digits maximum.

Near Future

The following items are features and capabilities that we are going to be actively working on for inclusion in an upcoming update. Please remember, this list is "fluid"; it can literally change at any moment and nothing on this list is to be interpreted as a commitment to feature availability or target release... in other words, this is just what we are "attempting to do" and if things go without any issues it might happen. With that said, you are very welcome to reach out to us regarding any comments/suggestions you might have related to these features so that we can provide you with the best possible result.

    • Migrate RT from Dallas to Denver (traf.com, wiki, forum, services, updates, databases, etc.)
    • Migrate from .NET 4.5 to .NET 4.6.1 (security updates and Marketron services). UPDATE1 Testing complete; able to do an in-place (no uninstall/reinstall necessary of RT) update to requiring .NET 4.6.1. UPDATE2 Need to discuss with the Marketron services team as to the possibility of getting them to be compatible with x64.
    • Trash and/or archive "everything"!

    • Allow Billing Read-Only role to print, email and/or export invoices. (forum)
    • Add ability to view the related contract when working with MakeGoods. (forum) UPDATE1 May consider delaying this in order to completely revamp/replace the existing MakeGoods windows into a single window experience more similar to the Contract View->Spot Details window.     • Please allow for the "option" of seeing the update box on the dashboard; I'd prefer not to see it as I prefer to keep my dashboard clean as part of my work-flow. (.)

    • If a spot isn't written in when reconciling and need to add to the invoice via AR, would like the ability to differentiate between different order lines and dayparts. (forum)

FAQ

  • Why do new releases occur "during the day"?

    There are pros and cons to every possible time where we could send out a release. Our experience has demonstrated that doing the updates during the day is in the best benefit of all. There are many reasons for this the first of which is having a full staff on hand to handle any possible issues that sometimes arise is far better than having no one. Given that RT is world-wide, there really isn't a day or time where someone is actively using the product; so no matter what, someone could be impacted if something goes wrong. One also has to remember that even if the update was done "overnight" if someone shows up before people are available at Marketron and there is a critical issue... that issue will have to go unresolved easily three or more hours. This, we feel, is unacceptable. Given how we currently approach this; if an issue arises, it's possible that given the number of people using the product that an issue is found and resolved by someone else before you experience the issue (power in numbers). The entire staff is on high alert and if any issues do arise, they handled with absolute #1 priority. Given that the update is typically less than a minute, we feel that the tradeoff is worth it.
