Introduction

RadioTraffic converts to a specific AV-Air log format.

Edit

Station Configuration

To configure RadioTraffic to work with AV-Air, you will first need modify the station configuration to utilize AV-Air as the automation system. In the administration module, open 'Stations'. Select the station you want to configure and double click. Once the station configuration is visible, select the 'Files' tab. Select the 'Product' to AV-Air using the drop down selection tool. The 'Automation Log Path' is where RadioTraffic will export the log to, so set this to the file system folder that AV-Air will pull the file from. The 'Station Identifier' will need to match the 'station number' described in the AV-Air User Manual (which is a number from 0 to 9). The file name structure for the exported log will be MMDDYY.ID; where MM is the two digit month, DD is the two digit day, YY is the two digit year and ID is what you've entered into the Station Identifier.

Edit

Cart Numbers

We do not restrict cart number length in any way; so please check with AV-Air for specifics on what is allowed.

Edit

Categories

If using automatic reconciliation, AV-Air requires categories, such as BCM, to be configured in RT and these categories must match those configured in the automation system.

In the Raw Aired File view, Column13 contains the per event category configured in AV-Air. If these categories do not exist in RT, the event will be ignored.

Automation Commands

Automation commands are exported as cart numbers.

Log Notes

Log Notes are currently not exported.

Programs

Programs are currently not exported.

Edit

Avails/Breaks

Avail markers do not export and are used strictly inside of RT as a means of scheduling.

Log Reconciliation

We also support automatic log reconciliation for the as-aired logs. To configure this feature, you need to determine where these files are located on your network and use that path to configure the "Aired Log Path". The filename to import should follow the mmddyy.LTX naming template.

The file is expected to be a fixed column width format with each line containing one entry (end of line contains a CR LF).

There should be 18 fixed width columns:

Column 1: 1 char
Column 2: 8 chars (Time)
Column 3: 1 char
Column 4: 3 chars
Column 5: 1 char
Column 6: 2 chars
Column 7: 1 char
Column 8: 13 chars (Cart #)
Column 9: 1 char
Column 10: 30 chars (Description)
Column 11: 1 char
Column 12: 21 chars
Column 13: 1 char
Column 14: 3 chars (Category)
Column 15: 1 char
Column 16: 5 chars
Column 17: 1 char
Column 18: 9 chars

This format leverages a "reconciliation marker" and the marker is the Category. This means that in order for the spot to be imported, matched and accepted, the Category must match the Category that was exported.
